E2ReBuild demo part of architecture exhibition in Augsburg

The E2Rebuild demonstration building in Grüntenstraße, Augsburg, is featured in an exhibition on timber architecture in the Museum for Architecture in Augsburg.

‘Building with wood in the Bavarian region Swabia’ is the name of a current exhibition on timber architecture in the Museum for Architecture in Augsburg.

Inspired by the 300th anniversary of sustainability, a forestry strategy, the museum of architecture together with wood network Augsburg have arranged a remarkable show of current regional timber architecture.

The exhibition presents in three topics the role of wood as a building material, innovations and appearance and color treatment of wood surfaces.

Grüntenstraße, Augsburg, the retrofit of a residential building is at the heart of the second part innovations. Following issues of the project are presented in depth:
- Concept covering the architectural and design schemes
- Building process showing the making of Grüntenstraße
- Building physics and fire safety explaining technical solutions
- Eco balance presenting a comparison of the timber system executed with a
  standard solution

A model in 1/50 enables visitors are able to reconstruct the process from the state before and after renovation works.

The exhibition is on display until 17th of November and will then tour through the region.
